What do web design and custom software cost for Irish companies?
As a guide, our prices begin at €3,000 for a website and at €15,000 for custom software. The final figure depends on scope, integrations, content and languages, and we set it as a fixed price after an initial conversation about your goals. Because Ireland and Germany share the euro, there are no exchange-rate fluctuations and no conversion fees between quote and invoice. Design, development, testing and launch are included; optional services such as copywriting or a maintenance plan are listed separately, so you can compare the offer line by line with other quotes.
How does working with a studio in Germany function in practice?
MDEPARTMENT has no office in Ireland, and we are open about that: remote collaboration is our standard way of working. Communication runs in English via video calls, email and a shared project board, and you can follow progress on a test environment at any time. Germany is one hour ahead of Irish time, so working hours overlap almost entirely. Every project has one fixed contact person who knows your goals and your systems. For kick-offs or workshops that benefit from being in the same room, we travel to you; these trips are planned and priced in advance.
How are invoices and VAT handled for Irish businesses?
MDEPARTMENT is a studio of KRUPKA Concept GmbH, a limited company registered in Germany. For B2B services to VAT-registered businesses in Ireland, we invoice under the EU reverse-charge procedure: the invoice is issued net, without German VAT, shows both VAT numbers, and you account for Irish VAT in your own return. All we need from you is a valid Irish VAT number. For private individuals or organisations without a VAT number, different rules apply, and we clarify these before sending a quote. All amounts are stated and paid in euro.
How do you ensure GDPR compliance?
Data protection is part of the architecture, not an afterthought. We host websites and applications on servers in the EU, conclude a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR with you, and configure cookie consent so that analytics and marketing tools load only after opt-in. Forms and databases collect only the data a process actually needs, and access is restricted by user roles. As an EU company we are subject to the same regulation as you, which keeps contracts straightforward. On request, we document the technical and organisational measures for your records of processing activities.
