Websites & software in Dublin
Dublin
From fund administrators in the IFSC to tech teams around Grand Canal Dock and consultancies on Merrion Square, Dublin companies operate in a market where clients, investors and new hires often form their first impression online. Growing firms eventually outgrow a template site or a patchwork of spreadsheets and plug-ins. MDEPARTMENT is a digital studio from Germany offering web design in Dublin together with custom software development: fast, accessible and GDPR-compliant websites, online shops for retailers and food brands, client portals for professional-services firms, and web apps that connect the systems you already use. We work remotely from Monheim am Rhein, in English, and come to Dublin for workshops whenever a project benefits from time in the same room.

Dublin is Ireland's capital and its main business centre. The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in the Docklands forms the core of the financial sector, while Grand Canal Dock, known as 'Silicon Docks', hosts the European operations of Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and Airbnb. In the southern suburbs, Sandyford Business District brings together four business parks with tenants such as Google, Microsoft and AIB, and Citywest has been home to Pfizer, SAP and eir. Bank of Ireland, AIB, CRH, DCC and Ryanair have their headquarters in the Dublin area. Alongside the multinationals, the city has a broad base of professional-services firms, retailers and domestic SMEs that need modern websites, e-commerce and systems integration – in an English-speaking, euro-denominated market with a high price level.

Frequently asked questions — Dublin
What does web design for a Dublin business cost?
A website from MDEPARTMENT costs from €3,000, and custom software development begins at €15,000. Where your project lands depends on the number of pages and templates, integrations with tools such as a CRM or booking system, multilingual content and how much copy we produce for you. After an initial call you receive a fixed-price quote, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay unless you decide to extend the scope. Invoices are issued in euro, which means no currency risk for Irish companies and no conversion fees – a practical difference compared with providers outside the eurozone.
Can you build software for financial and professional-services firms?
Yes. Fund administrators, advisory practices and consultancies in Dublin often need more than a brochure site: secure client portals for document exchange, onboarding workflows that replace long email chains, dashboards that pull data from existing systems, or internal tools for scheduling and time recording. We build these as web applications with role-based access, audit logs and hosting in the EU. For media, retail and hospitality businesses the focus is usually different – content management, online booking or e-commerce – and we scope each project around the processes you actually run rather than a fixed package.
How do you handle GDPR and the European Accessibility Act?
Both are built in from the first sketch rather than added at the end. On the data-protection side, that means hosting in the EU, a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR, cookie consent that loads tracking only after opt-in, and forms that collect no more data than necessary. For accessibility we work to WCAG 2.1 level AA: keyboard navigation, sufficient colour contrast, meaningful alt text and clean semantic markup. Since June 2025 the European Accessibility Act has applied to many consumer-facing digital services, including online shops, so Dublin retailers in particular should have their current site checked.
Who looks after the website after launch?
We do, if you want us to. You can choose a maintenance plan that covers security updates, backups, uptime monitoring and an agreed number of hours for small changes each month. Larger additions – a new section, another language or an integration – are quoted separately and in advance. You keep full ownership of the code, the content and the hosting accounts, so you are never locked in. If you prefer to manage updates in-house, we hand over documentation and train your team on the content management system, so day-to-day edits never depend on us.
Dublin has no shortage of digital providers, so the real question is fit rather than availability. If you want a studio that designs and writes the code itself, agrees a fixed price before work starts and stays reachable after launch, we should talk. Tell us what you are planning – a new website, a shop or a piece of software – and you will receive an honest first assessment.
Let's talk about your project, your vision and your brand.
