Custom software and web applications from MDEPARTMENT start at €15,000. How far above that a project goes depends on the number of user roles and workflows, the systems it needs to connect to – an ERP, CRM, accounting package or supplier portal – and how much existing data has to be cleaned up and migrated. After a first conversation and, where useful, a short scoping workshop, you receive a fixed price for a clearly defined scope, broken down into milestones. You pay for the agreed result, not for open-ended hours. Invoices are issued in euro by KRUPKA Concept GmbH. If you want us to maintain and run the software after launch, those ongoing costs are listed separately in the proposal.

We begin by mapping the process with the people who work in it: which data comes in, who handles it, where it gets stuck and which spreadsheets hold everything together. On that basis we write a concise specification and a clickable prototype of the key screens, so you can check the logic before development starts. The software is then built in short iterations; you see working features at regular intervals and give feedback along the way. The overall timeline depends on scope and integrations and is set out with milestones in the fixed-price proposal. Where it helps, we release the most frequently used workflow first, so your team benefits early while further modules follow.

Projects run in English, or in German if you prefer, and all documentation is written in the project language. Germany is one hour ahead of Ireland all year round, so our working days overlap almost completely and calls are easy to schedule. Reviews and demos take place by video call; workshops can also be held on site in Ireland on request. MDEPARTMENT has no office in Ireland – collaboration is remote by design. Invoices come from KRUPKA Concept GmbH in euro. For business clients with a valid Irish VAT number, the EU reverse-charge mechanism applies: we invoice without German VAT, and you self-account for VAT in Ireland.

We start by taking the existing files seriously, because they often contain years of business logic in formulas, macros and lookup tables. We document those rules, agree with you which ones carry over and clean up the data before migration. The new system then runs alongside the old files for a defined period, so your team can compare results and build confidence before the switch. Where a spreadsheet still makes sense – for ad-hoc analysis, for example – the software exports data to Excel rather than forcing a change of habit. Access databases are migrated to a properly managed database with user permissions, backups and a change history, so no individual person or PC remains a single point of failure.
