Websites & software in Sliema
Sliema
Along the Strand and Tower Road, offices of iGaming companies, financial-services firms and international businesses sit side by side with shops, apartments and hotels. That mix shapes what a website in Sliema has to do: speak to an international audience, load quickly on a phone and turn a visit into an enquiry, a booking or a sale. MDEPARTMENT is a digital studio based in Germany. Our web design for Sliema businesses covers multilingual company websites, online shops for retailers around Tigné Point and property portals for estate agents. Where off-the-shelf tools stop, we move into custom software development: partner and affiliate dashboards, onboarding flows for fintechs and interfaces between CRM, payment and accounting systems. We work remotely, in English or German, and in the same time zone as you.

A presence people recognise — and technology that performs on Google and on smartphones.
Sliema is a densely populated seafront town and, together with neighbouring St Julian's, one of Malta's two premium office markets. In July 2024, foreign nationals made up more than half of its residents, a sign of the international workforce drawn by iGaming and financial services. The Strand and Tower Road along the seafront host the headquarters of iGaming operators, financial-services firms and international companies. Tigné Point, a peninsula redeveloped on the site of former British barracks, adds a shopping mall and modern commercial buildings. Next door, the Gżira waterfront is popular with technology and SaaS companies, while Ta' Xbiex, a little further on beyond Gżira, is home to many operators licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority. For a German digital studio, Sliema's iGaming suppliers, payment and fintech firms and professional-services SMEs need fast, multilingual, conversion-focused websites and reliable integrations.

Frequently asked questions — Sliema
Do we have to speak German to work with you?
No. Most of our international projects run in English, from the first call to the final documentation, and German is simply an option. Because Malta and Germany use the same time zone, meetings fit easily into the working day on both sides, without early-morning or late-evening calls. Our studio has no office in Malta; we work remotely with one fixed contact person, a shared project board and regular demos on a test environment. If your team in Sliema prefers to meet in person for a workshop, we travel to Malta for it.
What does web design in Sliema involve for iGaming suppliers and fintechs?
B2B suppliers in iGaming sell to operators and partners, so their websites need to explain a product precisely, build credibility and generate qualified leads rather than traffic alone. We design those sites with clear product pages, multilingual content, fast landing pages for campaigns and trade events, and careers sections that help recruit international staff. For payment and fintech firms, trust and clarity come first: transparent onboarding, secure forms and accessible account areas. Every site comes with a content management system your marketing team can maintain and with performance budgets that keep it fast on mobile connections.
Does the European Accessibility Act affect our online shop or app?
Quite possibly. Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act has applied across the EU, Malta included, to many digital services aimed at consumers, among them online shops and banking services. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt, but larger retailers and fintechs along the seafront or at Tigné Point should check their position. Our websites and apps are built to WCAG 2.1 AA: logical heading structure, keyboard operability, sufficient contrast and forms that explain errors. For an existing site, we start with an audit and a prioritised list of fixes, so you know what to tackle first. The legal assessment stays with your advisers.
What budget should a Sliema business plan for?
Plan on at least €3,000 for a company website and from €15,000 for custom software such as a partner dashboard or an onboarding tool. Additional languages, a shop with a large catalogue or links to CRM and payment systems increase the effort, and we show you exactly where. After a free first conversation, we put everything into a fixed-price offer, with no hourly rates that grow with every round of feedback. Invoices are issued in euros, the currency you already work in, and can be split into monthly instalments if that suits your cash flow better.
Sliema companies often run several brands, markets or languages from one office. If your current website has grown along with them and become hard to maintain, that is a good moment to talk. Tell us what the site or tool has to achieve over the next two years; we will answer with a clear scope, a realistic timeline and a fixed price.
Let's talk about your project, your vision and your brand.
